just be... is a company that believes in giving back.
Our philosophy is that the expression of social consciousness is as equally pure and rewarding in far away third world countries as it is in our own backyards. We have experienced both, and as a company we are committed to continually sharing in the pure delight that comes from giving back.

We've discoverd...
... that our fabric scraps make wonderful hats and gloves for the homeless
... that the women in our local shelter love new lipstick
... that despite our sometimes faulty sense of business acumen, we do have something–even if it’s
only hope–to offer to local high school and college career classes
... that young mothers who chose to give up their children for adoption are quite brave and noble women
... and that gently used shoes make just another day in Africa very much like Christmas
Our realization is that there is always a way to give–and the reward for giving is always wonderful.
just be... is a company that is committed to giving back.

Gaye Brown a women who sews for Just Be… is using her talents to help sponser a boy in Africa.
Read her story:
Dear Suzi,
When I went to Africa in November I met a pair of brothers who are AIDS orphans and have been on their own for the past 7 years. They are only 15 and 18 years old now and have literally raised each other! They live in the 12 X14 ft. home where they cared for both of their dying parents. Another lady that went with me has promised to sponsor the older brother in school and I am going to sponsor the 15 year old for tuition and uniforms until he can get out of secondary school. I would use any sewing money I earn solely for the purpose of supporting this boy from a rural area in Uganda.

Here is a picture of Charles (on the left) who I am supporting and Michael who is the 18 year old. They are incredible young men and inspire me to want to do great things in my own life!
Thanks. Gaye Brown)
